My lens-based art functions as poetic, observational documentary, positioned between sensory ethnography and personal documentary. My aim is to use art as a means of providing sensory experiences of cultures or cultural practices undergoing transformation.
I am deeply fascinated by ceremonies and rituals. My travels have offered me rich opportunities to immerse myself in the traditions and customs of diverse communities. I share Cathy Park Hong’s belief that “the soul of innovation thrives on cross-cultural inspiration. If we are restricted to our lanes, culture will die.”
